Wauconda Home Invasion: Homeowner Shoots Two Intruders

#ad▼

Wauconda Police and Wauconda Fire Department responded to the report of two victims of a shooting in a home invasion in the 300 block of Indian Ridge Trail in Wauconda just before 5:50 pm. Saturday. A homeowner shot two masked intruders, who were subsequently discovered injured and bleeding at the front of the house by emergency personnel. An original report was that three people were shot, but the homeowner may have sustained injuries from a physical altercation during the home invasion.

Wauconda Police and the Lake County Major Crime Task Force are investigating. The incident may not have been a robbery, but may have been the result of the two intruders (a father and 15 year-old son) coming to help an 11-year-old son and brother, who they thought may have been held in the house against their will. The father and son may have gone to the wrong house when looking for the 11-year-old, who was later discovered safe and sound.
