Arlington Heights police received a report just before 6:15 a.m. Saturday that a woman awoke and walked out of her bedroom to find a black/male with a dark hoodie prowling in her apartment. The offender was reported to have run down a hallway and then out of the apartment when he was sighted. He was last seen headed eastbound out of the apartment complex, but may have turned westbound.

The offender is described as a male/black, 5’5″ to 5’7″ average weight, with short hair, and wearing a dark hoodie.

Buffalo Grove police are assisting with a K-9 unit for tracking. Police have surrounded the area and set up a perimeter to attempt to locate offender. Palatine police are also alerted, since the property is near the western border of Arlington Heights with Palatine.

The Pointe Apartments are a well-maintained complex in a spread-out complex with plenty of green space near Rand Road and Route 53.
