Car vs. Motorcycle Crash Kills Two on Motorcycle, Dundee and Quentin in Palatine

Palatine Fire Department firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:45 a.m. Labor Day to a car vs. motorcycle accident with at least three victims injured at the intersection of Dundee Road and Quentin Road in Palatine. Two patients were reported to be unconscious and transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

Husband and wife Michael Kelm, 65, and Susan Kelm, 54, were on a motorcycle and were seriously injured when they were hit by a car near a gas station on the southwest corner of the intersection.

Michael Kelm was pronounced dead just before 2:30 p.m. and Susan Kelm was pronounced dead about 3:45 p.m. at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois.

A 61-year-old driver was ticketed for failure to yield as she was pulling out of the gas station driveway and struck the motorcycle.
