Shooter Suspect Travis M. Goorley, 26, Arrested in Schaumburg Shooting on American Lane

Schaumburg Police Department has arrested Travis M. Goorley, 26, of the 1500 block of River Drive in Glen Ellyn, after investigating a shooting near the Hyatt Summerfield Suites at 1251 American Lane about 3:00 a.m. Sunday. Travis Goorley was arrested at a Lombard hotel Tuesday or Wednesday. Bond was set at $80,000 at the Cook County Circuit Court Rolling Meadows. Goorley has been charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm.

A witness claims that the argument started at John Barleycorn, a popular Schaumburg bar at the corner of American Lane and National Parkway and the argument continued while people involved in the shooting walked east down American Lane. A 22 year-old man from Winfield was apparently shot in the course of the fight, when Goorley fired five rounds at the Winfield man.

The gunshot victim was transported by Schaumburg Fire Department paramedics to Alexian Brothers Medical Center.

An Arlington Heights Police Department K-9 Unit was called in to assist about 3:10 a.m. Sunday.

Public records show that battery charges were dropped in April 2006 against a Travis M. Goorley, 1503 River Drive, Glen Ellyn, at age 23.

In September 2007 public records show that a Travis M. Goorley, 24, 1503 River Drive, Glen Ellyn had one conviction of three charges. A Travis M. Goorley, then age 24, was found guilty of Reckless Driving. A DUI charge was dropped and an Improper Lane Usage charge was dropped.
