Citizens Report Reckless Driver, Who Ends Up in a Townhouse

Arlington Heights police received a report about 1:00 p.m. of a blue Geo Prizm with a black rack on the roof being driven recklessly eastbound on Rand Road from Arlington Heights Road. The car was last seen passing Beverly on Rand Road, then the car was reported driving recklessly while northbound on Dryden/Windsor from Rand Road.

Next Arlington Heights police got a call of a car into townhouse near Buffalo Grove Road and Woodduck Lane. The corrected address was determined to be in the 1700 block of Lakeview Drive in Wheeling. Arlington Heights police, Arlington Heights Fire Department, and Wheeling police and fire department personnel responded to the scene.

The vehicle in the building was the same vehicle reported as the Rand Road reckless driver — a blue 1997 Geo Prizm.

On July 7 2009, Arlington Heights police arrested the driver of a blue Geo Prizm with a black rack on the roof when an alert citizen called in a possible DUI driver in a blue Geo Prizm starting near Northwest Highway and Arthur and also heading North on Dryden/Windsor. That driver was arrested after he hit a parked car near St. Viator High School and police caught up with him at Windsor and Lillian in Arlington Heights (See Alert Citizen Helps Police Nab DUI Driver in Arlington Heights).

Unknown if both of these cases involve the same driver.
