Citizen Reports Suspicious Activity in Parking Lot, Car Burglar Caught in Minutes

Arlington Heights police received a report about 5:50 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2009 of a suspicious person wearing a white shirt and gray pants that was possibly attempting to burglarize vehicles in an area of apartment parking in the 1600 block of Woods Drive (the well-maintained The Pointe Apartments).

Arlington Heights police arrived in minutes and observed a suspect check two vehicle’s doors. By 6:00 a.m., the suspect was in custody at the east end of the complex. While in custody, the suspect was uncooperative with the first-arriving police officer, who had a backup a few minutes later.

The following property was recovered during the investigation related to the case:

The Arlington Heights Police Department is requesting assistance in determining ownership.

On July 3, 2009 12:34 a.m. two male adults and one male juvenile were arrested about midnight after heavy police patrol in the area of The Pointe Apartments. A citizen also reported a possible burglary-in-progress immediately before the arrests of the three suspects.
