#ad▼

Arlington Heights police were called to Walgreens at Palatine Road and Arlington Heights Road at about 5:30 p.m. for retail theft of products.

A Walgreens employee followed the male offender into the neighborhood directly south of the Walgreens. The offender was described as a stocky male in his thirties wearing a purple polo shirt.

Arlington Heights police set up a perimeter and conducted a thorough search of the area bounded by Arlington Heights Road, Pine Avenue, Lynwood and Maude Avenue, and also farther east to Belmont Avenue. A K-9 unit was also called in to help with the search.

Police located the merchandise, but the offender slipped away, perhaps into his own residence or a friend’s residence.
