Arlington Heights Police and Arlington Heights Fire Department paramedics responded to a stabbing about 2:40 a.m. at an apartment building at 1119 East Algonquin Road. The stabbing apparently occurred inside an apartment unit. The victim was waiting outside when police officers and paramedics arrived.
The victim does not speak English, and police officers were initially hampered in getting a description of the offender. A Spanish-speaking officer responded to the scene to translate information obtained from the victim. After a quick search of the apartment complex, a male offender was placed in custody at about 3:00 a.m.
