Extra Alarm Fire in Mount Prospect with Rescues at Huntington Condos

Mount Prospect Fire Department fought a fire on the third floor of a four-story apartment-style condo building at 1101 Hunt Club just after 5:30 a.m. Friday. Mount Prospect’s first engine arrived on the scene and reported heavy smoke coming from a third floor condo unit of the Huntington Condos. Rescues were made as residents from at least one unit were unaccounted for by Mount Prospect police officers.

An extra alarm box alarm was requested at about 5:45 a.m. Fire departments from Arlington Heights, Bensenville, Des Plaines, Elk Grove Township, Glenview, Hoffman Estates, North Maine, Palatine Rural, Palatine, Prospect Heights, Rolling Meadows,, Wheeling, and Wood Dale assisted Mount Prospect Fire Department. The fire was knocked down in about 45 minutes.
