Arlington Heights Police Department detectives and uniformed officers were involved in a
pursuit with a black Pontiac Bonneville about 5:30 pm Tuesday. The pursuit started near Denny’s Restaurant on Algonquin Road just west of Arlington Heights Road and headed westbound on Algonquin Road. A crash involving a large SUV and a motorcycle occurred simultaneously with the pursuit just east of Golf on Algonquin. The driver of the motorcycle was injured and transported to Northwest Community Hospital. It was unknown at the time of this report if the crash was a direct result of the pursuit.

The Bonneville was occupied by at least three male Hispanics and sped by the front entrance of Sam’s Club and Walmart in Rolling Meadows with four police vehicles in close pursuit. The offending vehicle was stopped just north of Walmart in Rolling Meadows,
where the offenders bailed out of the car and ran through the parking lot. Two male Hispanics were immediately caught and placed in custody. At least one suspect was at large at 6:55 pm. Police are searching the area just north of Walmart. Rolling Meadows Fire Department was called for assistance with a ladder to search the roof of the Meridian Banquet Hall for tossed evidence and/or hiding suspects.

Witnesses in the area heard that the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) was working with the Arlington Heights Police Department when offenders resisted arrest and fled the Denny’s lot.
