Prospect Heights Police arrested Mikolaj Lakomski, 27, of Chicago just after midnight Friday after he was observed by a patrolling Prospect Heights police officer late Thursday night.
Lakomski, who was spotted suspicious in the Family Video store parking lot near Camp McDonald and Rand Road, was apprehended after a struggle. Lakomski pushed and bit a Prospect Heights police officer and was pursued near Keys Motel across Rand Road. Prospect Heights police officers immediately called Arlington Heights police officers for backup, but were able to get Lakomski in custody before Arlington Heights police officers arrived.
Lakomski was found with a handgun and a black ski mask and was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, aggravated battery and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Court date for Mikolaj Lakomski is June 18.
