Stabbing Reported at Apartments Near Dryden and Kensington Monday Night

Arlington Heights police responded to 9-1-1 call for help that a man was stabbed with a knife in the neck in an apartment building along Dryden Place just north of Kensington Road Monday night. Upon arrival, just before 11 p.m., police learned that the victim had left the scene and either driven himself to Northwest Community Hospital or had a friend drive him to the hospital.

Arlington Heights police officers with the K-9 unit then set up a search team to look for an offender described as wearing a white shirt with white, checkered shorts. Police thoroughly searched the apartment building, the construction scene at Arlington Market west of the apartment building and the school properties directly north of the apartment building, but were unable to locate the offender. Extra patrols were performed in the neighborhoods surrounding the scene overnight.

A crime scene was established with police tape surrounding a south entrance to the apartment building. Witnesses were being interviewed and police were continuing an investigation overnight.
