Armed Robber Arrested Near Antioch After Multi-Suburb Crime Spree Since October

Piotr Jaworowski, alleged armed robber (left) and recent armed robbery scene at the Citgo at Arlington Heights Road and Lillian.

Piotr Jaworowski, 31, of 1118 N. Dale Ave. [MAP/SAT], admitted to 17 armed robberies dating back to October 2007 — the first at a Shell Station in Prospect Heights. Jaworowski allegedly robbed gas stations, convenience stores, drug stores, liquor stores and food markets in Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Lake Zurich, Mount Prospect, Palatine, Prospect Heights, Palatine, and Wheeling.

The Citgo at Arlington Heights Road and Lillian was robbed on Friday April 18, 2008 in one of the most recent armed robberies of a business. In many of the robberies the offender was described as having a Polish or Eastern European accent. It is unconfirmed whether Jaworowski admitted to the Citgo robbery at Lillian and Arlington Heights Road.

When police made a traffic stop on Jaworowki related to a description match with the armed robberies, police decided to follow his activities — leading officers to witness his robbery near Antioch.

Two recent armed robberies have also occurred to pedestrians on the street  in Arlington Heights recently. The suspects have been described as male blacks in those robberies — one robbery near Davis and Vail on Tuesday April 29, 2008 and one robbery near Euclid and Northwest Highway on Saturday May 3, 2008.
