White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner 2008 Speech by Craig Ferguson

Comedian/Actor Craig Ferguson has some funny lines during his dinner speech at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Ferguson: “It’s a great honor for me to be asked to speak here … doubly so for me because I just became a U.S. citizen … I’m American by choice.” Terrorist impersonation: “Let us moisturize and text each other.” (Part 1/9:57)

CBS “Late Late Show Host” Craig Ferguson on the New York Times, “Shut the hell up New York Times, you sanctimonious, whining jerks.”(Part 2/9:59)

Ferguson to George W. Bush: “During your administration there was not one single sex scandal in the White House, not one, except the thing when Barney humped the Pope’s leg, but that’s one of these things.” After the president’s outbreak of laughter,  Ferguson chuckled, “Oh man, that’s encouraging.” (Part 3/2:24)

The dinner was held April 26, 2008 was the president’s last supper with the press association awards dinner, which is like the Oscars for Washington press. The White House Correpondents’ Association was founded in 1914. The first dinner was held in 1920.
