Saturday Morning Crash Near Woodfield Kills Park Ridge Man

John Moore, 87, of Park Ridge was pronounced dead at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village after he died apparently from auto accident trauma in the emergency room.

The accident occurred about 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Woodfield Road and West Frontage Road in Schaumburg with one vehicle southbound on West Frontage Road and the other eastbound on Woodfield.

A blue 2003 Ford Explorer driven by a 44-year-old Schaumburg woman and a 3-year-old female passenger struck the passenger side of a white 2001 Infiniti QX4 driven by a 51-year-old Arlington Heights woman with John Moore.

Both two vehicles were found near a damaged traffic signal at the southeast corner of the intersection.

Four people were taken to Alexian Brothers; three were treated and released.

The intersection and exit ramp was closed until 12:30 p.m. for accident investigation.

The Schaumburg police Department traffic crash reconstruction team is asking witnesses to call 847-882-3534.
