Critical Condition: Man Rescued from Frozen Oak Brook Pond

DEC 15 2007 OAK BROOK, Ill. A 19-year-old man is in critical condition at Good Samaritan in Downers Grove after being pulled from a frozen retention pond in the Forest Glen subdivision of Oak Brook.

Battalion Chief Jeff Marciniak of the Oak Brook Fire Department says the unidentified young man spend more than an hour and a half in the ice covered pond before he was pulled out by divers. The unidentified man’s coat was found on the bank of the pond and a nearby resident had seen the man walking across a wooden bridge without shoes.
