Arlington Heights Police Department and Buffalo Grove Police Department blocked both directions of Arlington Heights Road between Lake Cook Road ad Nichols road about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday. A water main break has flooded Arlington Heights Road and caused hazardous conditions on the road. Buffalo Grove Public Works is expecting a prolonged operation with digging and snow removal to resolve the water main break and flooding.
Initially, the police blocked only the southbound lanes of Arlington Heights Road because of extensive flooding. Eventually the flooding progressed to create a hazard in the northbound lanes as well.
