Lee Cutler

Lee Cutler, 18, of Buffalo Grove, Illinois reported missing last weekend after attending a friend’s birthday party Friday night. Lee Cutler’s cell phone was last used 12:30 a.m. Saturday. Cutler was reported missing after he failed to show up for work Saturday at his part-time job in Hawthorn Center Mall in Vernon Hills.

A friend who last saw Cutler at 9:50 a.m. Saturday said Lee Cutler recently broke up with his girlfriend and described him as being quiet during the ride to his house.

Police started a search of the area near Baraboo River after Lee Cutler’s 2007 Toyota Corolla was found parked near a rest stop in Sauk County at 3:45 a.m. Monday off of Highway 33 (WI-33) between Baraboo and Portage [MAP/SAT]. Cutler’s clothing was found inside his car. Police found a backpack and a blanket near the banks of the Baraboo River 75 to 100 yards from the car.  Inside the backpack were notebooks and notes from his ex-girlfriend.

Beth and Barry Frazin, Cutler’s parents, traveled to Sauk County, Wis., from their suburban Chicago home as soon as they learned the car was found.
