ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — An 11-year-old girl from Perdido Key, Florida was charged with driving under the influence Tuesday night after she led Orange Beach police on a high-speed 100 mph chase.
The Tuesday night chase — caught on a police cruiser dashboard camera — started about 10:30 p.m. in Orange Beach near the Florida line on Alabama 182 and ended with a rollover crash just inside the Gulf Shores city limits (Approximate Chase Route).
The girl was driving a Chevy Monte Carlo, which sideswiped another vehicle during the chase and reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour. After the crash, the girl was transported to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center where she was treated for minor injuries and released.
