Big Snow for December One, 2006

Heavy, wet snow is falling at about 1:20 a.m. in the Arlington Heights
area. The snow is blowing in hard from the northeast and has a strong,
fresh snow smell. About one inch is on the ground.

Arlington Heights is right under the snow/sleet line with the rain line down about the Stevenson Expressway latitude. The snow/sleet line over Arlington Heights is wobbly as snow was dumped across Arlington Heights starting around 10:30 p.m. (Nov. 30) and then precipitation changed back to a face-biting sleet. Snow was coming down hard at about Dundee Road while sleet was falling further south at about Euclid Avenue.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect. Check
and for more information. Check for the best Arlington Heights directory of snow storms and snow removal including Chicagoland snow records, recent Chicago snow depth reports and snow cover maps.
