Several Trailer Homes Destroyed by Fire

Arlington Heights Fire Department provided mutual aid to Elk Grove Township Fire Department fighting fires in at least seven trailer homes near the Touhy (Rte 72) and Elmhurst/York Rd intersection. Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Itasca, Rolling Meadows, Rosemont, Bensenville and Wheeling FD’s also assisted. The multiple-alarm fire was called just before noon, and was fought until around 2:15 pm Monday. — mb
