Mount Prospect police arrested Misha Paer, 43, at his home in the 1500 block of Sander Court, Wheeling, about 10:22 a.m. Thursday, October 15

Paer was charged with felony aggravated home repair fraud after a Mount Prospect resident reported he signed a contract on May 20 with Paer’s company, All Affordable Garage Doors. The police report alleges that the contract outlined work to demolish her existing garage and build a new garage at her home on the 1700 block of Tano.

The resident reported she paid the company $23,300 between May 20 and June 15.

The project deadline was June 16, but Paer never started the job, and told the victim he was waiting for construction or building permits from the village. Investigation revealed that Paer never applied for permits, according to the police report.

Court date is Nov. 6.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
