Police and protesters are intermittently clashing in downtown Ferguson, Missouri.
A large presence of police with Bearcat armored vehicles, and LRAD (Long Rand Acoustic Device for dispersing or directing crowds), and occasional firing of tear gas. but no reports of any serious injuries. Four police officers were reported injured by flying projectiles. Police have cordoned off an area just for media, but it appears most protestors have left the area at about 11:50 p.m. Monday.
Overnight two people were shot and 31 people were arrested. The scene Monday night began peacefully with residents forming a human chain to try to discourage aggressors from approaching police.
When a small group threw rocks, bottles and Molotov cocktails at police, they responded by firing stun grenades and tear gas canisters. On several occasions police singled out a single aggressor in the crowd with a group of police officers with rifles facing outward from the arresting officers — aimed at the crowd.

After nightfall, police and protesters were again in a tense standoff Monday as crowds filled the streets. Officers used noisemakers, bullhorns and armored vehicles to push demonstrators back.
