VIDEO: Rollover crash over the median wall on Interstate 90 near Barrington Road when two rollover crashes about two miles apart killed two people in one of the crashes.

Illinois State Police, Hoffman Estates firefighter/paramedics, and Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:46 AM Sunday to a crash on eastbound Interstate 90 at the 62.5 mile marker 42.066578,-88.139508. Initially Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics responded to a report of a rollover crash with a Toyota Camry on its roof at Mile Marker 64.5 in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90. About six minutes later Hoffman Estates firefighter/paramedics responded to a report of a Jeep involved in a crash in the eastbound lanes of I-90 at the 63 Mile Marker.

Schaumburg firefighters arrived on their scene and reported a vehicle on its roof at the 64.5 Mile Marker. Next, Hoffman Estates firefighters/paramedics learned that their crash also involved a rollover and possibly a fatality. Two left lanes were blocked on the eastbound lanes with debris and a Toyota Corolla crashed in the wall. Upon arrival at the 62.5 Mile Marker in the eastbound lanes, Hoffman Estates firefighter/paramedics found two people trapped in the Toyota and one passenger from the back seat was sitting in a vehicle of a passerby. Firefighters immediately went to work with extrication for the two victims in the front seat.

Schaumburg firefighters in the rescue vehicles from were able to clear their call at the 64.5 Mile Marker on the westbound lanes while ambulance personnel treated one victim with apparently minor injuries. The Schaumburg crews headed westbound and made a turn-around at Barrington Road to assist Hoffman Estates firefighter/paramedics in the eastbound lanes.

Firefighters had to cut off the roof of the Toyota Corolla to access the victims in the front seat, but both people in the Toyota Corolla were killed in the crash. The passenger in the back seat was injured and transported to a local hospital.

A light pole and a Jeep were also damaged in the crash. The crash is under investigation, but early accounts have described that the Toyota Corolla was westbound on I-90 when the driver lost control. The vehicle hit the center median barrier wall, and rolled over the wall, struck a light pole, and came to rest facing eastbound in the eastbound lanes. It is unknown at what point the Jeep was damaged. A red sedan with front-end damage was also possibly involved in the crash with front-end damage.

A truck driver stopped his truck to protect other drivers from debris that was in the left two lanes of eastbound I-90. The downed light pole was also partially located in the left shoulder of westbound I-90. A fire engine was used to block the left lane and left shoulder of westbound I-90 to prevent any westbound motorists from hitting the light pole. If a westbound motorist would have hit the light pole, it would have been at risk of striking and injuring rescuers in the eastbound lanes.

The upside-down white sedan on the flatbed tow truck in the video is possibly the vehicle from the rollover crash at the 64.5 Mile Marker.

Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.
