About 500 members of Hizb ut-Tahrir — a global Sunni network with reported ties to confessed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Al Qaeda in Iraq’s onetime leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi — met inside a Hilton hotel in Oak Lawn, Illinois on Sunday, July 19, 2009 to host “The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam” conference. This was the first conference of this type in the United States.

Attendees and organizers denied the ‘terrorist connections propagated by the media’

The organization is promoting a Caliphate — the uniting of Muslim countries under one ruler. This form of government is based on the principle that there is a single unified nation of Muslim believers, the Ummah, led by a head of state, the caliph (خليفة or khalīfah), who is a successor to the Islamic prophet Muhammad’s political authority.

Terrorism experts believe the group are a danger. “Hizb ut-Tahrir is one of the oldest, largest indoctrinating organizations for the ideology known as jihadism,” Walid Phares, director of the Future of Terrorism Project at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told FOXNews.com. They could be compared to Hitler Youth prior to World War II according to Phares.

Protesters around the Hilton Hotel at 9333 South Cicero Avenue in Oak Lawn probably agree.
“This is America,” the protesters said. “If you don’t like it in America, go home!”

Jim Imm founder of Washington-based peace group “Responsible for Equality and Liberty” was present … stating that Hizb ut-Tahrir publicly recruits people to be against Democracy and Freedom.

The Qu’ran uses the word Kufr to denote people who cover up or hide realities. The Qu’ran uses this word to identify those who denied Allah’s favors by not accepting His Dominion and Authority. Kufr thus is an antonym for Iman or disbelief in Allah and a Kafir is a non-believer. This type of Kufr is called AL-KUFRUL AKBAR or major kufr. A Chicago Jewish community group issued the following official statement …

“THE GROUP’S IDEOLOGY IS HOSTILE TO CAPITALISM AND OTHER NOTIONS OF WESTERN LIBERALISM” was a statement released by the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago.

Ahmed Rehab of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) stated that the philosophy of Hizb ut-Tahrir is not shared by CAIR.
