Romantic novels are now listed on

This page formerly listed Romance novels available on Amazon, and similar to what you would see in the magazine section of a grocery store or drugstore like Walgreens. Something triggered Google Adsense to issue a warning (bordering on false accusation) about the content of this page, and in order to comply, promptly removed the content from the website.

Temporarily Deprecated from early Friday 10-13-2017.

The page content on was permanently deprecated about 11:45 p.m. CDT Friday October 13, 2017.

* NOTE to other Google Adsense Publishers: First notification of a Content Violating Page arrived by email, and more comprehensive notification did not display on the Google Adsense log-in page until a couple of hours later.

Romance novels are books following the fiction genre primarily involving the relationship and romantic love between two people, and must have an “emotionally satisfying and optimistic ending.” There are many subgenres of the romance novel including fantasy, historical romance, paranormal fiction, and science fiction, and others. Scottish historical novelist, playwright and poet Sir Walter Scott defined the literary fiction form of romance as “a fictitious narrative in prose or verse; the interest of which turns upon marvellous and uncommon incidents”.

It is possible that the Amazon ads displayed on occasionally brought up book titles that were not acceptable content for the Google Adsense network, but in no way did it even occur in the decision-making process that the content would have violated Google Adsense content policies. However, it is possible that certain categories or subgenres of romance novels were displayed by Amazon that were not acceptable content for the Google Adsense network, or caused a knee-jerk reaction by the Google Adsense network monitors.

While considers the warning about content might have been an over-reaction or possibly a misunderstanding by a Google employee — not qualified to make judgments about the page — has complied to avoid harsh treatment by the Google Adsense network, and has trusted that Google Adsense was making the best decision to protect their network. apologizes for any inconvenience to readers arriving at this page.

In 2017, Google was under increasing pressure from advertisers, who withdrew ads from YouTube and the Google Display Network, over concerns about brand safety after some high profile advertisers found their ads adjacent to content that was highly unacceptable regarding their brand safety. The content formerly on was in no way at any extreme level of adverse content (see here).

We trust that at some point Google Adsense could have a more sophisticated system that would be capable of finding and matching advertisers that would not be averse to advertising adjacent to Romance novel content of all subgenres … for example, other Romance novel publishers.
