Police, firefighters and paramedics from Buffalo Grove responded about 11:13 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2022 to a report of a house fire in the block of 1300 Brandywyn Lane in Buffalo Grove. Neighbors called 9-1-1 and alerted the residents in the home that there was a small fire on the roof of their home.
The first crew on arrival reported a small fire on the roof, and the incident was upgraded to a working fire response. Thunderstorms with lightning were in the area. Initially it is unknown if the fire was the result of a lightning strike or not.
The residents safely evacuated the house.
The fire was declared under control by about 11:39 p.m.
Firefighters, paramedics and/or command officers from Arlington Heights, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, and Prospect Heights were assigned to the scene.
Firefighters, paramedics and/or command officers from Barrington-Countryside and Rolling Meadows were assigned to stand by at Buffalo Grove fire stations.
