Illinois State Police and firefighters and paramedics from Palatine responded about 8:37 a.m. to a crash with injuries into the ditch from northbound Route 53 to westbound Palatine Road in the northeast quadrant of the interchange. One person was transported by Palatine Fire Department paramedics to Northwest Community Hospital. The crash also took out an exit sign in the area.
Illinois State Police reported an icy overpass on Route 53 over Palatine Road. A vehicle also spun out on ice near Dundee Road and Route 53. Illinois State Police requested salt trucks at Route 53 at Palatine Road and at Dundee Road.
An IDOT HELP truck crew also reported icy conditions and requested salt trucks after multiple vehicles spun out on Route 60 over I-94 near Lake Forest.
