Lake County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Golf Cart Crash with Injuries in Unincorporated Antioch

Lake County Sheriff’s deputies responded about 7:20 p.m. Saturday May 9, 2020 to the block of 24000 West Beach Grove Road, unincorporated Antioch, for a motor vehicle crash with injuries. Lake County Sheriff’s deputies arrived and found a golf cart crashed and one person seriously injured.

Preliminary investigation shows a golf cart, driven by a 37-year-old man of unincorporated Antioch, was traveling westbound on Beach Grove Road. For an unknown reason the golf cart left the roadway on the south side of the road and struck an embankment. This caused a 48-year-old female passenger to be ejected. She sustained significant injuries.

The female passenger was transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center via ambulance with serious injuries. The driver was uninjured.

The crash is under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
