Bartlett firefighter/paramedics and police responded to a semi-trailer truck crash with a Metra passenger train at about 4:00 p.m. Monday.
At least one of the Metra passenger cars shows severe damage to the side or “skin” of the passenger car. No word yet on injuries. As of 4:35 p.m. there has been no extra alarm for ambulances ordered.
Hoffman Estates firefighters are standing by to assist Bartlett firefighters.

According to Metra (Posted:10/21/2013 04:03 PM), inbound and outbound trains will incur extensive delays in the area of Bartlett due to a grade crossing incident involving Metra train #2242 on the Milwaukee District West Line. The train involved in a crash with a semi-trailer truck (#2242) was scheduled to arrive at Chicago’s Ogilvie Transportation Center at 4:49 p.m. The train is stopped in Bartlett. Estimated time of delays are unknown at the moment. Once more information is available Metra will provide an update.
Initially according to Metra, Train #2244, scheduled to arrive Chicago at 5:37 p.m., would accommodate passengers from train #2242. Train #2244, scheduled to depart Big Timber Rd at 4:07 p.m. and arrive Chicago at 5:37 p.m., was delayed in departure due to a grade crossing incident involving train #2242 at Bartlett. The estimated time of delay was unkwown, but then about 5:05 p.m. Metra announced that Train #2244 would not operate Monday night.
