Freezing rain was the likely cause of a transformer or fuse problem on a utility power at Vail and South Street. Firefighters found a slow burn on the pole near the fuse. Freezing rain brought down a tree onto the roadway on Central Road between Arlington Heights Road and Northwest Community Hospital about 5:30 a.m.
