Oak Brook police responded about 6:15 a.m. Friday, New Year’s Day to report of shots fired near Spring and Harger Roads in Oak Brook. When police arrived to the area just east of Oak Brook Shopping Center, they found a female in a vehicle with a gunshot wound.
Melissa Bridgewater, 45, was shot in her car. She was leaving the Doubletree Hotel at 1909 Spring Road when she was shot by an unknown offender. The victim’s ex-husband, Jerry L. Hudson, 48, has been declared by police as a person of interest wanted for questioning in the case.
