On April 30, 2008, the team signed a three year deal with WGN Radio (720). The prior eight seasons, the Chciago Blackhawk’s radio affiliate was WSCR (670).

For the first time in team history, all 82 games plus playoffs were broadcast in high definition on television during the 2008–09 season. At least 20 of which were on WGN-TV (Channel 9). Other games aired on Comcast Sports Net Chicago.
