CHICAGO WHITE SOX ON RADIO AND TV
Radio coverage
THE 670 SCORE CHICAGO SPORTSRADIO

Starting in 2006, the White Sox’ flagship radio station is WSCR, 670 AM, known to Chicago listeners as The Score. Starting in 2009, Ed Farmer (play-by-play) and Darrin “DJ” Jackson (color commentator) call every White Sox game, with Jackson moving from TV to radio, and Steve Stone moving from radio to TV. Chris Rongey remains in the Chicago studios during broadcasts, where he hosts the pre- and post-game shows.

Chicago White Sox Television Broadcasts Split Three Ways on Different Days:
WGN-TV (both the local feed and WGN America)
WCIU-TV “THE U” (a local independent station)
Comcast SportsNet Chicago — csnchicago.com

Play-by-play announcers are the same wherever the game is televised: Ken “Hawk” Harrelson on play-by-play and Steve Stone on color. Occasionally, well-known former White Sox players such as “Black Jack” McDowell, Robin Ventura and Moose Skowron fill in as substitutes in the broadcast booth. In an interesting note, Harrelson left the booth in 1986 to become the White Sox’ general manager. Inept in the front office, Harrelson was summarily fired from the front office at the conclusion of the 1986 campaign and returned to the booth for the 1990 season, where he has worked ever since.

Games shown on WCIU are produced by WGN; the WGN logo on the time and score bug is replaced by “SoxNet.” Chicago White Sox games are filmed through TrioVideo of Chicago, IL.

What is the score of the Chicago White Sox game?
Who do the Chicago White Sox play today?
Who did the Chicago White Sox play today?
Did the Chicago White Sox win today?
Did the Chicago White Sox lose today?

You’ll find the answers in the ESPN Scorebox above. The box score presentation shows live scores for the same day. The box score from ESPN also shows the FINAL SCORE for the Chicago White Sox. If the time of the current day’s game is before start time, the box score shows the White Sox game start time and opponent.

CHICAGO CUBS ON RADIO AND TV
Radio Coverage
WGN-AM 720 AM — wgnradio.com

The Cubs’ flagship radio station is WGN-AM, 720 AM. Pat Hughes does the play-by-play along with color commentator Ron Santo and pre- and post-game host Judd Sirott. Hughes did play by play for the Milwaukee Brewers prior to coming to Chicago, and “Cub legend Ron Santo”, a former Cubs star and a devout fan of the team. The Chicago Cubs Radio Network consists of 45 stations and covers at least eleven states. WGN Radio is owned and operated by Tribune Company.

Chicago Cubs Television Coverage Split Three Ways
WGN-TV (both the local station and the superstation)
WCIU-TV “THE U” (a local independent station)
Comcast SportsNet Chicago — csnchicago.com (some games, often Wednesday nights, aired on CSN+).

Len Kasper is the play-by-play announcer, and Bob Brenly, a former major league catcher and Arizona Diamondbacks manager, is the color commentator for the games. WGN also produces the games shown on WCIU; for those games, the score bug changes the “WGN” logo to “CubsNet.” WCIU games also air over MyNetworkTV affiliate WMYS-LP (Channel 69) in the South Bend, Indiana market. WGN and CSN Chicago generally show an even number of Cubs games, while WCIU averages about 8 games per season.

News comes fast every day. Some of it is incomplete. Some of it is wrong. Often it is not connected with past news, so the information on TV, newspapers and magazines is often conflicting and confusing. Many people just turn off the news. The negativity is too much. Too many questions and not enough answers. Overly stressed, these people are wise enough to focus on affirmations and hope, but they miss opportunities and cautions. The Cardinal goal is to process news -- to inform and encourage connection of information, adaptation to news, and ultimately affirmation and the pursuit of excellence in human effort: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
