Correction Submitted to Google Maps for Buffalo Grove Police Department Web Address

Report submitted to Google ‘Report a problem’ for the Village of Buffalo Grove, Illinois. The listing on a Google map for Buffalo Grove contained the wrong web address for the Village of Buffalo Grove. The listing was found when a user searched “police department” in a Google map centered over Buffalo Grove.

In a map ‘speech balloon’ or ‘speech bubble’ the listing correctly published the geographic address and telephone number for the Buffalo Grove Police Department, but incorrectly published the website listing (CORRECT vbg.org INCORRECT bbg.org) …

The correction was submitted to Google on April 28, 2010. Corrections are verified by Google and usually take two or three weeks to take effect. Readers are advised that if they read this article weeks from the published date, the problem is expected to be eliminated from this example.

The inaccuracy for the Village of Buffalo Grove was also published in a Google web search for Buffalo Grove Police Department …
On April 28, 2010 the listing for Buffalo Grove Police Department … also incorrectly showed bbg.org as the website for the Village of Buffalo Grove. Incidently on April 28, 2010, the url bbg.org points to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

Street Log: Correction, There is No Rawhide Steak House in Arlington Heights

In order to maintain high standards for Google maps in Arlington Heights, The Cardinal identified and submitted to Google ‘Report a problem’ for an incorrectly placed marker for Rawhide Steak House on Northwest Highway, just east of Dunton Avenue. The bubble-up for the marker lists it at U.S. 30 in North Bend, NE 68649.

Kingswood United Methodist Church Preschool Map Marker Correction Reported

The Kingswood Preschool Marker located at Dundee Road and Grove Drive is located too far to the west on Google maps. The following correction was reported to Google. Kingswood preschool marker is located in the 400 block of West Dundee in Arlington Heights. It should be in the 400 block of West Dundee in Buffalo Grove, which is 1.03 miles east of Grove Drive, just east of Vernon Lane — the location of the Kingswood United Methodist Church.

The problem was reported to Google Maps.

Report submitted to Google ‘Report a problem’ for Goodwill location near Rand Road and Dryden Avenue. Goodwill location is positioned too close to Dryden and Charles Street. The establishment was noted for re-positioning to the southeast corner of Rand Road and Dryden Avenue [MAP].
