DUI Arrest Algonquin and New Wilke

Arlington Heights police arrested a DUI driver about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday near Algonquin Road and New Wilke Road. The driver was arrested and transported to Arlington Heights police headquarters in custody. The driver’s silver Dodge Durango was towed to a police holding area from the Willow Bend Apartment complex.

Kristian Branch Charged with First Degree Murder After Homestead Suites Extended Stay Hotel Shootings Schaumburg

Schaumburg police responded to a report about 1:20 a.m. Tuesday of shots fired in a third-floor room at the Homestead Studio Suites Extended Stay Hotel, 51 East State Parkway. A 29-year-old Rockford man, Mario C. Charles, was found with life-threatening gunshot injuries and later died from his injuries. A 26-year-old Minnesota man, (identity not released) was found with two gunshot injuries. Both men were transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.

Several people were in the room at the time of the shooting. Allegedly, Kristian Branch, 28, of Elgin and Mario C. Charles were involved in an armed robbery in a hotel room in the Homestead Suites Hotel. Mario D. Charles and the man from Minnesota exchanged gunfire and allegedly shot each other. Mario D. Charles died about 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Kristian Branch was one of eight women and a man who were arrested at a Schaumburg hotel (location not disclosed) for a variety of charges including prostitution and violating the massage act. Men who replied to ads on Craigslist and Backpage.com were cited for violation of Cook County’s public morals nuisance ordinance. The man that was arrested for prostitution was dressed as a woman.

Arrested on prostitution charges were: Bryon Blanco, 41, of Chicago, dressed as a woman; Alma Lopez, 23, of Chicago; Joyce Gipson, 19, of Lansing; Wendy Romack, 37, of Wisconsin; Brittany Brewer, 23, of Minnesota; Shawneequa Boyd, 24, of California; Kristian Branch, 28, of Elgin; Shannon Castor, 24, of Las Vegas. Jessica Dusablon, 21, of California, was charged with violating the massage act and had her ledger book confiscated by police.

Homestead Studio Suites in Schaumburg is located off of Roselle Road, just south of Interstate 90. An armed robbery was reported around the corner at the Holiday Inn Express, 1550 North Roselle Road on Tuesday, August 18, 2009. A female guest at the hotel was robbed in the parking lot by two armed robbers (see The Cardinal Armed Robbery: Two Take Woman’s Purse Near Holiday Inn Express Schaumburg).

Battery on North Kennicott

Arlington Heights police received a report about 4:50 p.m. Tuesday of a battery at a commercial location in the 3200 block of North Kennicott Avenue. Both the victim and the offender were injured or required transportation by Arlington Heights Fire Department paramedics to Northwest Community Hospital. The exact charges for battery, if any, are unknown.

Burglary to Vehicle at Walgreens Parking Lot on Golf Road, Attempt to Cash Check

Arlington Heights police received a report bout 12:50 p.m. Tuesday that a burglary to vehicle at Walgreens at Golf and Arlington Heights Road occurred in the parking lot. A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle. The victim’s bank called the victim and reported that a person attempted to cash a $500 check, presumably found in the purse by the offender.

Burglary to Business on West Dundee Road in Buffalo Grove

Buffalo Grove police received a report about 9:15 a.m. Tuesday that a business in the 200 block of West Dundee Road was burglarized — presumably overnight. A rear door was pried open and cash was reported stolen inside the business. Buffalo Grove police are investigating.

Burglary to Vehicle on East Olive

Arlington Heights police received a report about 1:25 p.m. Monday of a burglary to vehicle in a parking lot directly across from Olive-Mary Stitt School, 303 East Olive Street. A window was smashed on a red Nissan and a purse was stolen from the interior of the vehicle. Arlington Heights police are investigating.

Woman Arrested on Charges Related to Domestic Disturbance

Arlington Heights police arrested a woman on charges related to a domestic disturbance about 2pm Sunday near Northwest Highway and Arthur Avenue. A woman was reported to be kicking a car and fighting with a male near the intersection. She was taken into custody and transported to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters Sunday afternoon.

Retail Theft Burlington Coat Factory

Arlington Heights police received a report about 3:25 p.m. Saturday of retail theft at the Burlington Coat Factory on Rand Road. A male/white and a female/white in their 20’s walked out with merchandise without paying. The female got into a blue Buick and drove away eastbound on Rand Road. Police saw the vehicle turn into the shopping center across the street — the Annex of Arlington shopping center.

Just before 3:30 p.m. Arlington Heights police stopped the vehicle in front of PetSmart. Police arrest a female in the parking lot at about 3:45 p.m. Saturday and transported her to Arlington Heights police headquarters.
