Lake County Sheriff’s police yesterday located a man wanted on a domestic battery charge and DUI charge. On Tuesday December 5, 2017, members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team and U.S. Marshals Service – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF) apprehended Dustin M. Serna, 31, of the block of 500 Pheasant Court, Round Lake Beach.
Serna had two active Lake County arrest warrants. One warrant was for failure to appear on prior domestic battery and driving under the influence/alcohol cases ($40,000.00 bond); the other was for aggravated battery ($75,000.00 bond). The charges stem from a Round Lake Beach Police investigation.
On December 5th, members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team and Round Lake Beach Police Detectives developed information indicating Serna was inside his residence. Warrants Team Deputies along with Lake County Sheriff’s K-9 Duke entered the residence and located Serna hiding in the upstairs attic, under the insulation.
Serna was arrested without incident and transported to Round Lake Beach Police Department. He was subsequently transported to the Lake County Jail where he remains held on $75,000.00 bail. His next court date is December 6, 2017 at 9:00AM in Courtroom C-120.
Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
