Video Shows Phillies, Blue Jays Pitcher Roy Halladay Flying Aggressively Before Crashing in Gulf of Mexico

WARNING GRAPHIC LANGUAGE (and that’s an understatement): Roy Halladay appeared to be hot doggin’ it in his plane in the moments before his crash — making extreme and unusual changes in altitude … this according to multiple witnesses. TMZ Sports has obtained footage shot by boaters who say the ex-MLB star’s plane was going from 100 feet in the air down to 5 feet and then back up again … repeatedly.

Roy Halladay was in an aircraft that appeared to be flying erratically moments before it was involved in a fatal crash. Multiple witnesses rushed toward the aircraft and found it destroyed upside down in about 6 feet of water.

TMZ Sports obtained footage shot by boaters, who would later learn that MLB pitcher Roy Halladay of the Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays was the pilot of the plane. Witnesses reported the retired MLB star’s plane was going from 100 feet in the air down to 5 feet and then back up again, repeatedly.

Pitcher Roy Halladay, who won a Cy Young Award in each MLB league died Tuesday in a plane crash off the Florida coast near New Port Richey on the Gulf coast north of the Tampa Bay area.

The Icon A5 aircraft Halladay was flying crashed about 12:06 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. There were not other people on board the aircraft, and Halladay was dead at the scene.
