A Schaumburg girl, age 13, and a Mount Prospect boy, age 12, were each hit by vehicles less than one block from schools in their respective communities.
Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:22 AM Wednesday September 6, 2017 to a hit-and-run car vs pedestrian incident with personal injury at Springinsguth Road and Weathersfield Way Schaumburg, IL. Police received a report of a possible serious personal injury hit-and-run. A 13-year-old female was struck by a car, and was injured less than one block from Campanelli Elementary School in Schaumburg.
The female teen was reported to have been hit in the crosswalk, and was transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. Injuries were not initially believed to be life-threatening.
The offending vehicle was described as a black Audi that left the scene northbound on Springinsguth Road toward Schaumburg Road.

A little over an hour later, a boy bicyclist was hit by a vehicle less than one block from Saint Raymond School in Mount Prospect. The boy bicyclist was reported hit by a vehicle at and Lincoln Street in Mount Prospect.
Mount Prospect police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:40 AM Wednesday September 6, 2017 to a report of a male bicyclist, age 12, hit by a vehicle at Elmhurst Avenue and Lincoln Street Mount Prospect, Il.
The Mount Prospect incident was not reported to be a hit-and-run; however, two hit-and-run incidents were reported in Schaumburg earlier this morning.
The incident involving a 13-year-old girl, who was hit while in a crosswalk on Springinsguth Road at Weathersfield Way in Schaumburg at about 6:22 a.m., was the first of two hit-and-run incidents reported in Schaumburg.
A bicyclist was also hit and reported injured by a hit-and-run driver about 7:22 a.m. at National Parkway north of Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg. No vehicle was description was available for the offending vehicle involved in the reported hit-and-run on National Parkway.
