Male, Age 18, Shot Near Target Store on Clark St in South Loop Neighborhood, Chicago

An 18-year-old man was seriously wounded early Tuesday, when he was shot just steps away from a Target store near the parking garage in the South Loop. CBS 2’s Susanna Song reports.

Chicago police and fire department paramedics responded about 12:00 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a gunshot victim near the Target store loading dock, 1154 S Clark Street. The Target Store closes at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday nights.

An 18-year-old male was shot in the stomach and lower back off of Clark Street near the parking garage and loading dock. The man was wearing a red polo shirt and was seen receiving aid by another person in a red polo shirt prior to arrival of police and medics. Target employees wear red polo shirts at the location.

The man was transported by Chicago Fire Department Ambulance 41’s crew to Level I Trauma Center Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

A neighbor heard a succession of gunshots at the time of the shooting.
