Man Who Was Rescued at Schaumburg Apartment Pool on Memorial Day Dies Thursday

A man who was rescued by two residents and then treated with Advanced Life Support by Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics at International Village Apartments on Monday, May 29, 2017 died Thursday morning at Northwest Community Hospital. The Cook County medical examiner’s office Friday released the identity of as Sarat Chandra Kolisetty, age 37, as the Schaumburg resident who was pulled from the bottom of an indoor swimming pool at International Village Apartments on Memorial Day.

The cause of his death is pending further tests. The Cook County Medical Examiner and police found no evidence of alcohol, drugs or a pre-existing medical condition.

Kolisetty had been listed in critical condition since his rescue from the swimming pool at the International Village apartment complex where he lived.

Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:25 PM Monday, May 29, 2017 to a report of a person found unresponsive in the indoor swimming pool at International Village Apartments, 1220 East Algonquin Road Schaumburg, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a 40 year-old male found unconscious and not breathing in the indoor swimming pool at International Village Apartments.

Firefighter/paramedics received a report that CPR was being performed, but there were initially mixed reports whether the man was out of the pool or not.

Kolisetty was found at the bottom of the pool, and CPR and Advanced Life Support measures were performed. He was transported to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, where he was listed in critical condition.

Two residents rescued the Koklisetty and performed CPR prior to arrival of Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics. A second ambulance was requested to the scene for a second person at the scene, but illness or injuries for the second person were unknown. Ambulance 54 was assigned at 12:47 p.m.
