Scotty Allen built a like-new (but really refurbished) iPhone 6S 16GB entirely from parts he bought in the public cell phone parts markets of Huaqiangbei in China.
Scotty Allen of StrangeParts.com set out to build his own iPhone from parts available in markets of Huaqiangbei in China. In some cases, some of the iPhone 6s parts were a bit hard to obtain — mostly the logic board says Scotty Allen.
Allen started by obtaining a Back/Shell, a Screen, a Battery and a Logic Part. Then he went after the smaller parts.

Huaqiangbei is an area and subdistrict of Futian, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China. The area’s status as a major electronics manufacturing hub, and sprawling electronics marketplaces have earned it, and Shenzhen, the names of “China’s Silicon Valley”, and the “Silicon Valley of Hardware”. Huaqiangbei is famous for its large variety of electronics and clothing shops, but it has a notorious history of selling counterfeit and smuggled goods. There is a chance not all the iPhone parts were authentic, and a lot of episodes of assembly are glossed over, but the journey is amazing.
