SUV Veers Off Roadway Into Creek Near Interstate 90 and Route 53, Rolling Meadows — 3 Injured

SUV Crash in creek near Interstate 90 and Route 53, Rolling Meadows .

Rolling Meadows police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:46 PM Thursday to a report of crash with injuries at off of the expressway ramp from westbound Interstate 90 to northbound Route 53, behind 3601 Algonquin Rd Rolling Meadows, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that an SUV ran off the expressway and into a creek behind the parking lot near 3601 Algonquin Road in Rolling Meadows.

Occupants of the vehicle were able to get out of the vehicle before firefighter/paramedics arrived. Firefighters secured the area of a fast-moving water in a small creek, and gained access to the vehicle from the parking lot side of the incident. The vehicle occupants walked up the south bank of the creek upward toward the expressway ramp, where they were rescued by Rolling Meadows and Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics.

Three people were transported to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights by Rolling Meadows and Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics.

There was no known report of contact with another vehicle or a reason why the SUV left the roadway.
