Nine Patients: Ohio State University Victims Were Hit by Car and Stabbed

Ohio State Attack: 8 Injured in Ohio State Attack – PRESS CONFERENCE.

In a press conference just before 1:00 p.m. ET, officials reported that a suspect drove his over the curb and hit people with the vehicle near 19th Avenue and College Road near Watts Hall. The suspect got out of his vehicle and began to stab people with a butcher knife. A police officer engaged the suspect, and immediately shot and killed him outside of Watts Hall. No people were shot by the offender.

The dispatch center received the first call for people hit by a vehicle at 9:52 a.m. An OSU police officer reported at 9:53 a.m. that shots were fired after the officer engaged the suspect, who was striking multiple people with a knife. Police believe the threat was ended when the police officer shot and killed the suspect.

Multiple police agencies responded to the scene.

Nine people were transported to hospitals. Eight patients were listed in stable condition. One person was listed in critical condition.

Most of the injuries were orthopedic and soft tissue injuries. Two people had completed surgery by the time of the press conference about 1:00 p.m. ET.

Andrew Thomas, M.D. Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center received five individuals with stab wounds and injuries resulting from being hit by a vehicle.

Two people with lacerations (non-life-threatening injuries) were transported to Grant Medical Center.

Two motor vehicle crash victims with non-life-threatening injuries were transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital.

The ALERT last one hour, but classes for Monday, November 28, 2016 were cancelled.

Words of a fire alarm being pulled have been reported. The investigation is continuing.
