Multiple-Vehicle Crash on Higgins Rd East of Route 53, Elk Grove Village Shuts Down Higgins Rd

Elk Grove Village police, Illinois State Police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:07 PM Friday to a report of a crash with injuries at Higgins Rd and Route 53 Elk Grove Village, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a multi-vehicle crash on Higgins Road east of Route 53. The crash occurred on Higgins Road, just west of Busse Woods Grove 31

The crash was upgraded to an accident with entrapment following reports of at least one person trapped.

There was also a report of at least four people injured.

The first crew on arrival reported 5 vehicles involved with two vehicles in the trees of the forest preserve.

Two additional ambulances were requested by 7:16 p.m. — Elk Grove Ambulance 10 and Schaumburg Ambulance 51 were assigned.

An EMS Box Alarm for mutual aid ambulances was requested by 7:25 p.m.

Seven patients were transported to various local hospitals.

Higgins Road was shut down between Route 53 and Arlington Heights Road.

The crash also reported on Waze.
