On Saturday, September 10, 2016 the Village of Buffalo Grove is scheduled to host a combined recycling event at the parking lot behind Banner Plumbing, 151 Hastings, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Residents from Buffalo Grove and other SWANCC communities are eligible to participate. However, materials will not be accepted from non-SWANCC residents, businesses, schools, institutions, and IDs will be checked for verification of residency. Residents can check at the SWANCC website to see if they qualify.

As residents drive up in their vehicles, workers will remove the paper documents and acceptable electronics. Residents are asked to stay in their cars. Acceptable documents can include medical forms, bank statements, personal files and retired tax forms. Residents are allowed to bring up to six file-size boxes or paper bags of paper documents and are asked to remove any plastic/metal clips or binders and NOT to put paper in plastic bags before dropping off, according to a news release.

In addition to Buffalo Grove’s one-day event, SWANCC offers ongoing collection sites for electronics to residents in member communities at these locations:

Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Glenview Transfer Station, 1151 N River Road, Des Plaines
