A 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck near Pawnee, Oklahoma, and rattled through at least six surrounding states in the US heartland, according to the US Geological Survey.

A 5.6 magnitude ties the strongest earthquake in history for Oklahoma. 3.7 million people felt some type light shaking in 7 states. The depth of the earthquake was unusually shallow.
