DUI Arrest Early Morning Near Mariano’s on East Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police arrested a suspected DUI driver about 2:52 AM Thursday August 18, 2016 near Mariano’s Fresh Market, 802 East Northwest Highway Arlington Heights, IL. Police had probable cause to stop a motorist near Mariano’s early morning Thursday.

The driver was identified as Robert W. Smolen, age 73, of Palatine.

Police transported the driver in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters. The driver’s vehicle was towed to a police holding area.

Smolen was arrested on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 02:52 AM and was bonded out shortly after his arrest.

Court date is scheduled for September 23, 2016.
