Illinois State police and Marseilles and Wallace firefighters responded about 1:50 PM Monday to a report of a semi-trailer truck crash with injuries and fire on westbound I-80 near MP 93 and Ottawa, Illinois. A semitrailer truck crash with fire near Marseilles and Ottawa and Route 71 has closed westbound Interstate 80 just east of Ottawa, Illinois for much of the day Monday.
One firefighter was down on the pavement, but appeared alert and talking as he was treated by paramedics at the scene.
Accident reconstruction is expected for an extended time period Monday.
The crash appears to involve two semi-trailer trucks, a semi-trailer dump truck carrying gravel, and a large pickup truck or smaller flatbed truck carrying tires.
