UPDATE: Witnesses report seeing a black Chevrolet Impala with tinted windows exit at a high rate of speed from an apartment complex at 525 North Quentin Road where there was possibly an undercover police operation. According to witness reports, undercover police officers or people who identified themselves as police officers shot at the black Impala as it attempted to run over the people identifying themselves as police officers. The driver and/or occupants of the Impala apparently arrived the Winslowe Drive address, where an ambulance was called for emergency medical help for a man who was shot near his knee.
Palatine police have not released any details about the encounter.

Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:58 PM Thursday to a report of a person shot at 1469 North Winslowe Drive Palatine, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a person was shot.
Also, there was a report that a police officer was shot at a second location at 525 North Quentin Road. However, this report may have been an error or a precaution on part of the police involved in the initial encounter on Quentin Road.
Ambulance 83’s crew reported they were transporting one gunshot victim to Northwest Community Hospital with a gunshot wound to the knee with police accompanying by 8:06 p.m.
